House-museum of Martiros Saryan
Martiros Saryan is one of the best artists of the 20th century. It was under him that his house-museum was opened. The artist spent many years of his life in the house-museum, where he painted many of his artistic masterpieces. The plan of the artist’s house was drawn by the greatest Armenian architect Alexander Tamanyan.
In recent years, the museum has been extensively renovated. Added a 4th floor. There is a conference hall there.
Also on the fourth floor is the Saryan art studio.
The works in the artist's house and studio are now in the museum. It is hard to believe that the museum started its activity with only 50 paintings. Today there are more of those paintings.
The main goal of the house-museum is to present the art of the great artist, to present it in a new way and to spread Saryan's culture. The museum is actively engaged in scientific works, publishes the artist's memoirs and letters.
The artist's masterpieces: "Oriental flowers", "Near the well. hot day", "Self-portrait", "Night landscape", "Still life with Egyptian masks", "Walking woman" are in the permanent exhibition of the museum.
Saryan had different shades of creativity at different stages of his life, an example of each is available to visitors in the museum. All genres in which Saryan painted are also present in the exhibition. Saryan's entire life can be read in more than 300 canvases.
One of the main treasures of the museum is Martiros Saryan's studio. In this corner, you can see under what conditions and with what tools a part of Saryan's culture was created.
Educational programs for children and general thematic events with musical concerts are an integral part of the museum.
